Role Overview
The QA Automation Engineer (SDET) will be integral to ensuring the robustness and dependability of our software products. This role involves designing, building, and running expansive automated test suites using Playwright and other tools, including cross-browser testing platforms like BrowserStack. You will also be responsible for integrating these tests into CI/CD pipelines to facilitate continuous testing and accelerated release cycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and sustain automated test suites for functional, regression, and end-to-end testing leveraging Playwright.
- Perform cross-browser and device testing using services such as BrowserStack.
- Embed automation tests into CI/CD workflows with platforms like Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
- Convert manual test cases into automated scripts in collaboration with QA and development teams.
- Develop and execute API and integration tests to verify system functionality and data integrity.
- Diagnose and fix automation failures to improve test framework stability.
- Coordinate with DevOps to synchronize test environments with production settings.
- Contribute to code reviews and promote continual enhancement of automation processes.

Candidate Profile
- Minimum 5 years' experience in designing and maintaining test automation frameworks and infrastructure as an Automation Engineer or SDET.
- At least 4 years of expertise in UI automation using Playwright (preferably JavaScript/TypeScript) or comparable tools.
- 3+ years' background in API, contract, and load testing using platforms like Postman, REST Assured, k6, or JMeter.
- Practical experience with cloud-based cross-browser and cross-device testing platforms such as BrowserStack.
- Proven skills in building scalable, reliable, and reusable automation frameworks from scratch.
- Competency in integrating automation suites with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Proficient with Git version control systems and experience with issue tracking tools like Jira.
- Ability to test complex distributed systems and multi-component data pipelines to ensure comprehensive validation.
- Experience assessing automation tools, conducting evaluations, and recommending improvements to boost efficiency and quality.
- Self-driven with strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities in complex environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills geared toward seamless collaboration with developers, product teams, and DevOps staff.
