Role overview

Life’s Abundance is looking for a highly analytical, strategic Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement, inventory control, and supply chain coordination. The role exists to ensure raw materials, packaging, finished goods, and operational supplies are bought on time, stock stays at healthy levels, costs are managed well, and manufacturing continues without interruption.

The selected person will guide two Purchasing Coordinators and work closely with Manufacturing, Warehouse Operations, Logistics, Accounting, Quality Assurance, Technology, and senior leadership. The position is based onsite in Jupiter, Florida.

Core responsibilities

You will shape purchasing strategy, manage inventory across facilities, lead supplier relationships, oversee procurement activities, coordinate logistics, and support budgeting and compliance efforts.

Purchasing strategy and team leadership

  • Create and implement buying plans that align with business goals, production calendars, and inventory targets.
  • Direct the purchasing team by setting priorities, improving processes, and ensuring follow-through.
  • Build and refine purchasing policies, procedures, and standard practices.
  • Review buying patterns to uncover savings opportunities and operational gains.
  • Share purchasing reports, insights, and recommendations with leadership.

Inventory management

  • Manage stock planning across several warehouses and manufacturing sites.
  • Set and maintain safety stock levels using demand forecasts and production needs.

  • Work with Manufacturing and Warehouse teams to keep production supplied appropriately.

  • Find and qualify new suppliers to reduce risk and protect supply continuity.

  • Oversee the full procurement flow from demand planning and purchase order creation through receipt, payment, and documentation.
  • Approve purchase orders within approved limits.
  • Watch supplier lead times and resolve delays or shortages proactively.
  • Keep purchasing records accurate and aligned with FDA requirements and company rules.
  • Handle purchasing for raw materials, packaging, finished goods, maintenance items, and office supplies.

Supply chain and logistics coordination

  • Coordinate with logistics partners to support timely inbound and outbound movement of goods.
  • Plan transportation schedules with carriers, warehouses, and manufacturing sites.
  • Create backup plans for supply disruptions and transit delays.
  • Work with warehouse leadership on stock transfers between facilities.
  • Track freight spend and look for transportation efficiency improvements.

Financial management

  • Build and manage purchasing budgets, including annual planning and forecasting.
  • Monitor spending and identify ways to reduce costs.
  • Study material price trends and advise on pricing decisions.
  • Work with Accounting to fix invoice differences and payment problems.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Coordinate with Manufacturing to help keep production running smoothly.

  • Ensure purchasing activities follow FDA rules, GMP standards, and internal policies.

  • Monitor market changes that may affect supply availability and pricing.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline is preferred. The role calls for at least 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing, along with preferably 2 or more years in a leadership or supervisory role. Background in manufacturing, food production, consumer packaged goods, pharmaceutical, or another regulated environment is preferred. Experience with supplier negotiations and strategic sourcing is also expected.
