Job description

About ASB and the Role

ASB is currently undergoing a significant transformation to modernise its core banking systems, aiming to enhance service delivery for customers. We invite a skilled and innovative Programme Engagement Manager to join our Programme team, reporting directly to the Core Banking Transformation Executive within the wider Strategic Change team. The primary responsibility is to create and implement a multi-channel communication and engagement strategy that effectively delivers messages at the right time and through the right channels, fostering understanding, commitment, and confidence throughout the programme and the broader bank.

Key Responsibilities and Approach

Functioning as a change agent and trusted advisor, the role demands clarity in translating complex and ambiguous change content into clear, engaging narratives presented in digestible formats. The manager must adeptly tailor these communications to diverse audiences, ensuring effective message delivery. This role pertains to a substantial, multi-year change programme, offering ample scope to apply expertise.

Candidate Profile

  • Professional experience in communications and engagement, preferably over three years within business transformation or strategy sectors in complex environments.
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, capable of credible collaboration across all organisational levels and cross-functional teams in dynamic, fast-paced change settings.
  • Proven ability in designing quality engagement experiences that go beyond simply transmitting messages, employing modern tools and creative strategies to enhance engagement and comprehension.
  • Strong action orientation with awareness of critical deadlines; self-driven with accountability.
  • Creative problem-solving skills characterized by opportunity recognition, risk management, and solution orientation.
  • Inquisitive nature balanced with pragmatism; adept at shifting content and a passion for continuous progress.

Benefits and Work Culture

  • Flexible and supportive work environment to help balance professional and personal priorities.
  • Comprehensive wellbeing support including health insurance, wellness programmes, parental and flexible leave, and personalised benefits.
  • An inclusive and safe culture encouraging employees to bring their authentic selves to work, fostering a sense of belonging aligned with the organisational mission.
  • Development opportunities via mentorship, flexible learning paths, and challenges promoting professional growth inside and outside the workplace.
