Junior Achievement Ireland (JAI) is a global organization dedicated to encouraging young people to remain in education and helping them realize their potential. Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time Programme Coordinator based in Galway, responsible for managing relationships with business and educational partners. The role requires regular travel to nearby counties including Mayo, Roscommon, and Westmeath. The position offers the flexibility to work several days remotely, subject to agreement.
Key Duties
- Recruit volunteers from JAI partner companies to support programmes.
- Establish and maintain connections with JAI partner businesses and schools.
- Gain comprehensive knowledge of the full range of JAI programmes.
- Provide support to volunteers through induction, training, and programme delivery in both online and face-to-face settings.
- Oversee logistics to ensure a positive and effective experience for schools and volunteers during programme delivery.
- Coordinate with school officials to brief teachers and optimize student engagement with JAI activities.
- Manage event planning related to programme activities.
- Handle general administrative tasks to support programme operations.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is energetic and highly motivated, capable of inspiring and mobilizing others. They should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be innovative and self-driven, and exhibit flexibility in their working style. Strong teamwork skills, fluency in English (both written and oral), project management capability, and proven relationship building and presentation skills are essential. Proficiency in Irish language is a beneficial asset.
A passion for non-traditional educational activities targeted at youth, and the ability to motivate corporate volunteers to deliver meaningful learning experiences to primary and secondary school students, will be advantageous.
Qualifications and Experience
- A relevant third-level qualification or its equivalent suitable for this role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated success in managing relationships effectively.
- Operational expertise to coordinate volunteer activities and meet expectations of school principals and teachers.
- Proven multitasking skills and ability to independently handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Possession of a full driving license and access to a vehicle.
- Fluency in Irish language is an advantage.
