Overview
The Program Management Office (PMO) Manager holds the key responsibility of setting up and directing governance across extensive portfolios and transitions that encompass multiple programs and program managers, possibly including several specialized PMOs. This role requires enforcement of DXC’s standards across each program throughout its lifecycle while aligning with client expectations. In addition to managing all PMO deliverables, the PMO Manager develops the organizational frameworks, protocols, documentation, and reports essential to servicing the portfolio, customer, and company needs.
The PMO Manager prioritizes quality and compliance in the portfolio and collaborates with Program Executives to cultivate a unified and integrated portfolio team.
Key Duties
- Apply DXC’s standardized project management practices covering scope definition, scheduling, resource and risk planning, cost and budget control, change management, and quality assurance.
- Track and report adherence to defined standards to guarantee programs comply with established policies.
- Coordinate program meeting schedules with stakeholders, ensuring all regulatory submissions align with the communication strategy.
- Establish strong relationships with senior stakeholders both inside and outside the organization.
- Manage all facets of project planning including requirement gathering, scheduling, communication, issue resolution, cost monitoring, financial reporting, and change oversight.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation and reports as per the Quality Management Plan.
- Aggregate and analyze program and project data to enable informed decision-making.
- Provide advisory support to program and project managers regarding project methodologies and management techniques, acting as the primary contact for PMO inquiries.
- Enforce effective quality assurance and risk management policies and procedures.
- Drive adherence to DXC’s project management standards among project managers.
- Lead the PMO team, which usually includes Project Control Analysts, Financial Project Control Analysts, and Schedulers, who may be located onshore or offshore.
- Ensure timely delivery of all reports related to program status, finance, and scheduling by the PMO team.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Over 10 years of experience managing program offices for large, complex construction or ICT projects involving multiple programs and project managers.
- Proven expertise in managing commercial governance frameworks and delivering contractual commitments.
- Strong commercial insight with a capability to manage contract changes, scope variations, and project delays.
- Advanced knowledge and practical experience with PMBOK or equivalent project management methodologies.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills suitable for executive-level audiences.
- Proficient problem-solving, decision-making, judgment, and leadership abilities.
- Highly developed executive presence with skills to facilitate productive stakeholder and team engagement, fostering trust.
- Experience leading teams through collaboration, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to handle change and unpredictable circumstances effectively.
- Deep financial acumen related to complex program management.
