Role Overview
Under the guidance of the Product Manager, the Product Testing Analyst will design, prepare, and carry out comprehensive testing for products, applications, and digital solutions. This person ensures deliverables meet business objectives, maintain quality benchmarks, and satisfy customer expectations. Collaborating closely with Digital Banking product managers, the analyst guarantees smooth, secure, and high-performance product rollouts for Absa's clientele.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine business needs, user stories, and functional specs.
- Develop test conditions, scenarios, and cases including scripts and data.
- Estimate testing workload and contribute to planning processes.
- Conduct manual and automated testing including functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance phases.
- Track, document, and manage defects; coordinate with developers to resolve issues.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and perform requirement reviews.
- Support automation efforts by maintaining automation scripts and running test suites.
- Compile and share detailed testing reports and status updates.
- Engage stakeholders actively, attending review meetings and offering insights on defects and testing progress.
Qualifications and Experience
- Required: Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, engineering, business information systems, or related disciplines.
- Professional experience ranging between 2 to 5 years in software testing, QA, or product testing.
- Experience with web, mobile, and enterprise application testing.
- Working knowledge of Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
- Familiarity with test automation tools is a plus.
