Job Overview
The Procurement Quality Control Supervisor (PQCS) is responsible for guaranteeing that all materials, equipment, and services procured meet project specifications, client demands, applicable codes, and company quality standards. This position manages supplier quality, inspection processes, material approvals, and documentation to ensure compliant products reach the projects.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead procurement quality control activities ensuring alignment with project specifications, client expectations, and company standards.
- Assess material requisitions, purchase orders, technical specs, and vendor documents for quality adherence.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, QA/QC, Warehouse, and Project teams to communicate and implement quality requirements effectively.
- Review supplier quality documentation including certificates, inspection and test reports, and compliance records.
- Organize supplier inspections, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and third-party inspections as necessary.
- Confirm materials and equipment meet approved specifications, standards, and contractual obligations prior to delivery.
- Track supplier performance, maintain quality records, inspection statuses, and non-conformance reports.
- Identify and address quality issues in procured items by coordinating corrective and preventive measures with suppliers.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of procurement quality documents for audits and project records.
- Oversee material receiving inspections and resolve any quality discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams.
- Generate procurement quality reports, inspection summaries, supplier evaluations, and key quality metrics for management.
- Assist internal and external audits by supplying procurement quality documentation and records.
- Ensure adherence to the company Quality Management System (QMS), procurement protocols, and relevant international standards.
- Spot opportunities to enhance supplier quality, procurement workflows, and quality control methods.
- Perform additional procurement quality assurance and control responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related area.
- At least 5 years of experience within Procurement Quality Control, Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance, Procurement, or comparable roles.
- Preferably experienced in construction, engineering, manufacturing, oil & gas, industrial, or EPC projects.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, material inspections, and supplier quality management.
- Knowledgeable about international standards, material certifications, and inspection protocols.
- Familiar with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and related quality documentation requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with ERP platforms like SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalents and Electronic Document Management Systems is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms.
- Capability to assess technical documents, supplier materials, and inspection records.
- Self-motivated with an ability to juggle multiple priorities in fast-moving environments.
- Detail-oriented with a solid commitment to quality, compliance, and ongoing improvement.
