Role Overview

We are seeking a Portfolio Associate to bolster our OEGEN funds team supporting the Octopus Renewables Infrastructure SCSp, a Luxembourg-based open-ended renewable energy and infrastructure partnership with funds under management approaching A33 billion. The portfolio associate will manage quarterly valuation processes, analyze operational performance, and partner with country P&L leads to support both long-term value enhancement and short-term portfolio performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of valuation models for assigned asset portfolios, including offshore wind, updating discounted cash flow calculations, refreshing inputs, and delivering clear, substantiated valuation conclusions to stakeholders.
• Develop strong understanding and challenge key valuation assumptions such as power prices, operating costs, asset lifetimes, debt structures, inflation, and regulatory impacts, collaborating with asset management.
• Continuously improve and simplify valuation models leveraging advanced Excel, VBA, automation tools, and explore integration of AI and data tools to enhance valuation accuracy and efficiency.
• Coordinate with external valuers, auditors, and advisers to prepare supporting analyses, clarify queries, and ensure valuation robustness and compliance with governance standards.
• Identify and implement portfolio value enhancement strategies including refinancing, capital optimization, asset life extension, and operational improvements, tracking realized gains.
• Support asset management on commercial decisions towards delivering annual performance targets of assigned portfolios.
• Manage financing assumptions, debt structures, covenant compliance, hedging strategies, and treasury products within valuation and budgeting contexts.
• Oversee reporting processes for fund-level monitoring of investor returns and key performance indicators, ensuring onboarding of new acquisitions is seamless with clear ownership and data controls.
• Assist in creating clear, accurate investor reports and support fundraising by providing high-quality data, valuation commentary, and due diligence assistance.
• Contribute to investment transaction analysis by reviewing models, conducting sensitivity analysis, and preparing materials for investment committees.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of four years in relevant roles such as infrastructure investment, renewable energy portfolio management, project finance, or infrastructure valuation.
• Proficiency in discounted cash flow and debt modeling with advanced Excel capabilities; experience with offshore wind assets is a plus.
• Good understanding of fund management processes concerning debt and equity operations.
• Excellent written communication skills with experience preparing detailed valuation, investment, and investor-facing documents.
• Strong financial aptitude; progress towards professional qualifications such as CFA, ACA, or ACCA is beneficial.
