Role overview
This remote role is for a Policy Analyst in the United States, supporting a partner organization that handles the application process and all subsequent hiring steps. The position centers on governance, policy creation, and compliance within a large stakeholder-driven environment.
You will help build and maintain policy structures and governance documentation that enable secure, well-managed information practices. The role involves close coordination with stakeholders to keep work aligned with legal, regulatory, and internal requirements across federal IT and information-sharing initiatives.
Success in this role requires someone who is proactive, analytical, and comfortable turning complex requirements into practical governance solutions. It is well suited to a candidate who enjoys mission-oriented public-sector work and collaborating with varied teams on important programs.
Accountabilities
- Contribute to the creation and upkeep of governance frameworks, policy materials, and implementation documentation.
- Help prepare and maintain engagement agreements, MOUs, and related governance documents.
- Write, refresh, and refine charters, standard operating procedures, and other supporting policy content.
- Maintain governance records, compliance evidence, and tracking dashboards that support oversight activities.
- Assist in shaping governance structures and matrices for information security, privacy, content handling, and user-access management.
- Support compliance work to help ensure alignment with applicable legal, policy, and regulatory obligations, including FISMA, privacy, and data governance requirements.
- Communicate governance and policy updates clearly to stakeholders, following direction from leadership.
- Support meetings and communications with advisory groups, steering committees, working groups, and other governance forums.
- Identify process gaps and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
- Balance multiple priorities while delivering accurate, high-quality work in a fast-moving setting.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in policy development, governance, or compliance support within a federal IT or information-sharing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Working knowledge of federal compliance frameworks such as FISMA, privacy requirements, and data governance practices.
- Background supporting complex projects, organizational change, or transformation efforts in government settings.
- Ability to obtain and keep the required security clearance or public trust eligibility.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and issue-resolution abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex matters in straightforward language.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage several deadlines at once.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Adaptable mindset with openness to feedback and process improvements in changing environments.
