About Villa Caritas and Opportunity Overview
Villa Caritas is an acute inpatient geriatric psychiatry hospital accommodating 150 beds. It serves patients coping with dementia at various stages, psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety, mood and thought disorders, psychosocial complexities, and other medical conditions. The hospital emphasizes patient-focused treatment through diverse individual and group programs designed to enhance functioning, independence, and life quality. A multidisciplinary team collaborates holistically to address physical, mental, and emotional health.
Role Summary
The Physiotherapist I plays a critical role in providing client-centered therapeutic interventions. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, the therapist assesses patients' physical conditions and aids in creating and executing a comprehensive care plan. Adherence to Covenant Health's mission, vision, and values as well as established policies and professional standards is essential. This role is governed by the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Qualifications
Essential qualifications include graduation from a Physical Therapy program or recognized equivalent, active registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta, and certification in Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C). Preferred experience includes acute care settings and geriatric psychiatry.
