Job description

Position Overview

Join a locally operated pharmacy to provide exemplary health, beauty, and convenience services while centering customer care in your duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage pharmacy operations during shifts ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legal frameworks.
  • Deliver professional consultations to customers and healthcare providers, including dispensing medications accurately and maintaining the dispensary.
  • Greet and assist all customers who approach the pharmacy desk.
  • Maintain confidentiality by adhering to privacy protocols and manage customer consents appropriately.
  • Offer counseling on prescriptions as well as over-the-counter and behind-the-counter products.
  • Practice to the full extent of licensed scope including professional services within competency.
  • Ensure pharmacy staff are easily identifiable and provide clear professional representation.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals in the customer's circle of care for holistic service.
  • Maintain detailed records compliant with legislation and best practices.
  • Control dispensary access, ensuring stock security and patient confidentiality.
  • Monitor workflow queues and manage ‘will call’ bins in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Review inventory regularly to discard expired stock and manage medication orders efficiently.
  • Comply fully with the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and related regulations, including reporting.
  • Maintain clean and professional work areas such as entry, counseling, and waiting spaces.
  • Engage with financial reporting and respond to in-store communications appropriately.
  • File incident reports for medication or privacy-related events.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and problem-solving in decision-making scenarios.
  • Skills in planning, coordinating, delegating tasks and mentoring pharmacy team members.
  • Proven business-building ability, leadership by example, and support for corporate initiatives.
  • Strong commitment to superior customer service and professional demeanour.
  • Robust problem-solving aptitude, including developing and implementing action plans.
  • Computer literacy with familiarity in pharmacy systems is advantageous.
  • Adherence to health and safety protocols to ensure a secure workplace.
  • Completion of mandatory and elective professional training as required.

Compensation and Additional Information

A sign-on bonus is offered. The hourly pay range is $60 to $67, influenced by experience, knowledge, and the location of the position.
