Payment Specialist

Job Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Payment Specialist to oversee and manage e-commerce payment operations in Doha, Qatar. The role centers around supporting payment gateway integration, troubleshooting, and enhancing payment systems, primarily utilizing CyberSource and Mastercard Payment Gateway Services (MPGS). This position requires ensuring secure, reliable, and smooth online payment experiences through collaboration across various teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle daily e-commerce operational tasks related to payments.
• Assist merchants and business units with payment enquiries, maintain workflows and documentation.
• Provide real-time updates during payment disruptions or operational challenges.
• Manage the day-to-day running of CyberSource and MPGS payment gateway systems.
• Diagnose and resolve payment gateway problems, liaising with merchants as needed.
• Work closely with development teams on payment API integration and improvements.
• Support testing of payment flows across web and mobile platforms, and review API responses and logs to troubleshoot integration issues.
• Assist with implementing advanced payment features such as tokenization, 3D Secure authentication, and recurring payments.
• Ensure adherence to payment security standards like PCI DSS and aid fraud monitoring and risk controls.
• Collaborate with e-commerce, IT, development teams, banks, payment providers, merchants, and other stakeholders to deliver efficient payment solutions.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in e-commerce operations, digital payments, or fintech settings.
• Practical knowledge with payment gateways, particularly CyberSource and MPGS.
• Deep understanding of card payment processes including authorization, capture, settlement, refund, and reversal.
• Skilled in troubleshooting payment transactions and integration challenges.
• Familiarity with APIs, payment flows, online checkout mechanisms.
• Programming experience in PHP, Java, and .NET platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with e-commerce platforms and payment system integrations.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and transaction log analysis.
• Understanding of EMV 3D Secure protocols, tokenization, fraud prevention tools, and payment security practices.
• Background working with banks, acquirers, and payment service vendors.
• Experience supporting environments with high online transaction volumes.
