Role Overview and Responsibilities

As a Paralegal focusing on contracts at Carta, you will ensure smooth contract processing and provide essential support in investment-related documentation. Your contributions will include managing the initial review and markup of NDAs and related agreements to maintain fast turnaround times, assisting UK legal counsel with preliminary drafting and other legal tasks to alleviate their workload, coordinating client workflows and managing document portals for a seamless contracting process, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and commercial soundness in all contract-related support activities.

Team Environment

You will join the UK Contracts team, reporting to the Supervising Attorney in EMEA and collaborating closely with Carta’s UK lawyers and AI-assisted teams. This team handles high-volume legal document processing for private capital clients efficiently, bridging legal expertise with technology to deliver unparalleled service speed and consistency.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of two years' transactional legal experience, ideally in a corporate or in-house commercial legal environment, with practical involvement in commercial contracts and investment-related NDA drafting.
  • Capacity to perform quickly and accurately under pressure, managing multiple priorities without compromising quality.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and legal principles, with the judgment to escalate issues when necessary and complete tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, ensuring clarity and efficiency in interactions.
  • Proactive and self-driven, eager to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements to team processes.
  • Experience or familiarity with private capital markets, fund structures, or investor onboarding workflows is highly advantageous.
