About the Role
Elphinstone Mechanical Services (EMS), a component of the SSH Group, is seeking an Operations Planner & Scheduler to be based in Belmont, Perth. This role involves close collaboration with Operations Coordinators to effectively support workforce planning, roster management, and everyday operational activities. The position requires an individual who thrives in a dynamic environment, skilled at juggling multiple priorities while ensuring job assignments and operational needs are seamlessly organised and matched.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning workforce needs and creating employee rosters.
- Manage roster changes, handle employee availability, and coordinate replacements as needed.
- Partner with Operations Coordinators to identify and resolve any issues related to scheduling or resource allocation.
- Review and approve employee timesheets, addressing any discrepancies prior to payroll deadlines.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date job, roster, and timesheet records in operational databases.
- Oversee coordination of employee medical assessments, LABDAS testing, training, and compliance activities.
- Support management of fleet servicing, vehicle maintenance, and related administration.
- Manage distribution and tracking of personal protective equipment (PPE), uniforms, and onboarding resources for staff and new hires.
- Keep operational records, trackers, and reporting systems current and accurate.
- Identify and suggest improvements for operational and administrative procedures.
Candidate Profile
- Prior background in operations planning, scheduling, rostering, workforce coordination, or comparable roles.
- Experience in mining, maintenance, labour hire, or field services industries is particularly valued.
- Strong organisational capabilities paired with an aptitude for balancing competing demands.
- Familiarity with working on rosters, timesheets, and operational systems.
- Keen attention to detail combined with proactive problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across various teams.
- Self-motivated and accountable, demonstrating initiative to see tasks through to completion.
Preferred Systems Experience
Competence with platforms such as RosterPro, GreenTree, JobAdder, or similar workforce management systems is advantageous.
