Job Overview
This role involves leading and managing operational delivery throughout the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The Operations Manager is accountable for ensuring excellent service quality, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, safety, and financial outcomes. The position requires overseeing Contract Managers, field staff, and subcontractors, fostering business growth, enhancing operational efficiency, and driving continuous improvement across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for all operational activities across Ireland, ensuring planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance tasks meet agreed standards and deadlines.
- Handle operational escalations promptly to maintain consistent service quality.
- Support new contract initiations and the expansion of existing services.
- Lead, develop, and support Contract Managers through regular performance reviews, coaching, succession planning, and accountability measures.
- Ensure operational teams achieve established KPIs and adhere to company standards.
- Serve as the primary senior operational liaison for customers, managing reviews, resolving complaints, and executing recovery plans in line with feedback timelines.
- Coordinate workforce capacity, deployment, and subcontractor performance; assist with recruitment, onboarding, and professional development to guarantee adequate coverage across all territories.
- Maintain compliance with health & safety regulations, environmental policies, and quality standards; monitor audits, training programs, Garda Vetting, and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee contract performance monitoring, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and identify opportunities for revenue growth as well as operational efficiencies.
- Continuously improve operational processes, reporting mechanisms, and system adoption to enhance visibility, productivity, and reduce administrative workloads.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated leadership of multi-site operational teams.
- Strong people management, coaching, and leadership skills.
- Experience handling budgets, contractual performance, and financial forecasting.
- Knowledge of health & safety standards, compliance, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Excellent customer relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to analyze KPIs and implement operational improvements accordingly.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and operational management software.
- Outstanding communication, organizational, and decision-making capabilities.
Preferred Skills
- Background in Grounds Maintenance, Arboriculture, Infrastructure, Environmental Services, or Facilities Management.
- Experience with contract mobilization and overseeing multi-site operations across Ireland.
