WW+P is a globally recognized architecture and planning firm established in 1985, employing over 400 professionals including architects, urban designers, and planners within 12 studios worldwide, including locations in London and Manchester. The firm integrates multiple disciplines—planning, urban design, landscape, and architecture—to deliver visionary regenerative design projects grounded in technical proficiency. WW+P is part of the 10N Collective under Egis Group, which merged with SvN Architects and Planners in 2026, enhancing their combined expertise in urban design and planning.

Role Overview

Based in London, the Operations Director is a pivotal leadership position tasked with enhancing operational effectiveness, governance, and business outcomes throughout the practice. This role ensures financial sustainability, commercial rigor, risk management, and compliance with 10N and Egis Group standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the global commercial strategy and promote accountability across all studios.
  • Advise senior leadership on business performance, commercial priorities, and strategic planning.
  • Enhance profitability through precise forecasting, resource management, and financial oversight.
  • Manage major project reviews to optimize project results and collaborate with external partners.
  • Develop and continuously refine the operating model, governance frameworks, and business processes.
  • Strengthen practices related to contracting, risk management, bidding, revenue recognition, billing, and cash collection.
  • Oversee governance forums and areas like Legal, Ethics & Compliance, IMS & Risk, Procurement, Real Estate, and Health & Safety.
  • Ensure systems alignment with 10N and Egis Group requirements.
  • Provide accurate operational and financial data to empower business decisions.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and core business metrics.
  • Collaborate with Finance, IT, and shared services to enhance system capabilities and Oracle implementation.
  • Build capability in contract management, project management, and project controls across the firm.
  • Promote leadership development, succession planning, and knowledge sharing between studios.
  • Encourage collaboration among Studio Leads, Finance, Growth, Design, and Executive teams for business integration.
  • Drive initiatives supporting innovation, sustainability, digital transformation, and technical excellence to foster strategic growth.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive senior leadership experience in architecture, engineering, design, construction, or similar project-based professional service firms.
  • Proven track record in enhancing profitability and operational performance across complex, multi-location or international organizations.
  • Solid background in project financial management, commercial risk oversight, and business transformation.
  • Experience with implementing business systems and operational improvements.
  • Deep commercial and financial insight into project-driven businesses.
  • Ability to interpret business data to provide strategic insights and support decision-making.
  • Excellent skills in stakeholder management, influence, and leading change.
  • Competence in designing effective operating models, governance structures, and business processes within complex organizations.
