About the Role

Situated within the landmark Scalpel Building in Bishopsgate, CIMAS Consulting serves as the primary operational hub for Britannia Global Investments. The Operations Analyst will play a key role in managing the lifecycle of equity trades by supporting processing, settlement, and reconciliation activities. Ensuring all transactions are accurate, timely, and adhere to both internal policies and regulatory guidelines forms the core of this position. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to engage with ongoing operational tasks as well as participate in process enhancement projects and cross-departmental initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Enter, verify, and update trade information in internal systems to maintain data integrity
  • Communicate with external counterparties to confirm trade details and resolve any discrepancies to facilitate prompt settlement
  • Administer client position transfers involving external brokers and custodians
  • Monitor and escalate unresolved failed trades to senior management
  • Assist in processing corporate actions such as dividends, coupon payments, and redemptions
  • Conduct daily cash and stock reconciliations, investigating and resolving inconsistencies swiftly
  • Raise detailed, auditable reports for any unresolved reconciliation issues
  • Support the preparation of operational and regulatory reports on a regular basis
  • Ensure that all operational processes comply with company policies and applicable regulations
  • Identify, propose, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risks
  • Participate in team-led projects including system upgrades and workflow modifications
  • Maintain accurate and current procedure documents for operational consistency

Experience and Knowledge

  • Between 2 to 4 years of experience in financial operations, settlements, or middle-office functions
  • Practical understanding of trade lifecycle and settlement processes covering at least one asset class such as equities, bonds, or funds
  • Experience with reconciliations and handling of corporate actions
  • Basic knowledge of settlement and custody regulations is advantageous

Skills and Personal Attributes

  • Exceptional attention to detail and high accuracy in task execution
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with both internal teams and external parties
  • Strong organizational abilities with capacity to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions
  • Proactive mindset with a problem-solving approach
  • Team-oriented and able to collaborate effectively
  • Flexible and adaptive to a fast-changing work environment

Technical Systems

  • Experience with settlement or reconciliation software such as Broadridge, CREST, Euroclear, or similar platforms is highly desirable
