About the Role
We are looking for a Nurse Unit Manager to join our team at the Rainbow facility, offering full-time (80 hours per fortnight) or part-time (hours flexible) positions. This role involves leading nursing staff and healthcare workers to provide excellent care within our accredited Acute hospital and Residential Aged Care center.
The Nurse Unit Manager works closely with the Director of Nursing to coordinate clinical team activities, conduct resident and patient assessments and documentation, and address general operational needs at the Rainbow facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
- Drive improvements in service delivery through effective facility management.
- Supervise the nursing unit, including Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, and Health Care Workers.
Key Selection Criteria
- Registered Nurse status with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Strong leadership abilities and excellent communication skills, including negotiation, mediation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.
- Familiarity with electronic documentation systems and current aged care funding mechanisms.
- Commitment to quality enhancement and knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards and National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
- Ability to motivate teams and embody the values of West Wimmera Health Service.
- Awareness of legislative requirements related to Equal Employment Opportunity, Disability Services, and Occupational Health and Safety affecting employment and service provision.
- Organizational talent and dedication to superior customer service.
Desirable Qualifications
- Management qualification or equivalent.
- Postgraduate qualification relevant to the position or healthcare field.
Prerequisites
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- Valid Working with Children Check.
- Up-to-date vaccinations including influenza as per Department of Health directives.
- Possession of a valid Australian Driver’s License.
