About the Role
We are seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician who will provide servicing, maintenance, and repair services through scheduled appointments at customers' homes or workplaces. This position is part of a newly established specialized division within the UK's leading national breakdown company boasting over 15 million members.
Location & Schedule
Based in Chelmsford, this permanent full-time role involves working 40 hours per week over five days (Monday to Saturday) between 8 AM and 8 PM, including one Saturday shift every four weeks. Optional overtime is available, with additional pay for up to two days per month.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver vehicle servicing and repairs, including electric vehicles, at customer-designated locations such as driveways or office car parks.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
- Diagnose and address vehicle issues encompassing engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems.
- Effectively communicate repair findings and recommendations to customers.
- Manage payment processing via card transactions.
- Stay updated on advancements in automotive technologies and repair methods.
- Maintain precise records of performed work and parts used.
Candidate Requirements
- Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair; Level 3 qualifications such as City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalents are preferable.
- Possess a minimum of two years of post-qualification hands-on experience working with vehicles in a workshop or mobile setting.
- Capable of working independently, making sound decisions, and adhering to procedures.
- Customer-oriented mindset.
- Have a valid UK driving license with no more than six penalty points and no driving bans.
- Right to work in the UK is essential.
