Mechanical Project Engineer

Job Overview

Development Works Company is looking to hire a Mechanical Site Engineer for their construction projects based in Jeddah and Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The role involves overseeing all mechanical activities on-site, including HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and Drainage systems, to ensure adherence to design, quality, safety, and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and control all mechanical site tasks such as HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and Drainage installation work.
• Review and assess mechanical drawings, specifications, and shop drawings prior to execution to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with consultants, subcontractors, and other engineering disciplines for efficient project progression.
• Verify that all work complies with the project specifications, relevant codes, and industry quality standards.
• Prepare material requisitions and confirm accuracy of delivered materials on site.
• Perform site inspections and resolve technical challenges during the construction phase.
• Track project progress and provide daily and weekly activity reports to management.
• Initiate inspection requests and coordinate with consultants to obtain necessary approvals.
• Ensure onsite compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the project duration.
• Support commissioning, testing, and handover activities upon project completion.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Between 2 to 7 years of hands-on experience in mechanical execution on building construction projects.
• Strong expertise in HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting systems installation and coordination.
• Working knowledge of international construction standards and Saudi Arabian building practices.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools.
• Excellent skills in communication, coordination with teams, and problem solving.
• Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is preferred but not mandatory.

Preferred Background

• Experience handling mechanical works in hotels, hospitals, commercial buildings, or high-rise construction projects.
• Proven ability to operate effectively under pressure and meet stringent project deadlines.
