Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, structured, and well-zoned meat department that is always ready and welcoming for customers.
• Rotate stock regularly and promptly remove any expired or unsellable items to ensure product quality.
• Ensure all merchandise is accurately priced and properly labeled according to established procedures involving ordering, clearance, markups, markdowns, and signage.
• Adhere strictly to food safety protocols and cold chain practices, including regular temperature monitoring, thermometer calibration, correct food handling, and compliance with sell-by and expiration dates.
• Prepare and serve deli products such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken, safely using equipment like slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers to complete customer orders and stock displays.
• Operate in compliance with workplace health and safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a hygienic and safe working environment.
• Demonstrate flexibility by working various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business demands.

Challenges of the Role

• Manage a high volume of tasks in a fast-paced environment, especially during overnight shifts by effectively planning to sustain focus and energy.
• Execute extensive restocking and recovery duties accurately and promptly.
• Perform physically demanding activities such as standing for prolonged periods, bending, lifting goods weighing up to 20 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs, as well as repetitive stocking and zoning tasks.

Compensation

The starting pay for this position is $16.95 per hour.
