Materials Controller

Job Overview

The Materials Controller is responsible for overseeing the management, control, and monitoring of all project materials at an offshore fabrication yard. This role ensures materials are available on schedule, stored correctly, traceable, and documented accurately to meet project and offshore standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving and inspecting incoming materials to ensure compliance.
• Proper storage and preservation of materials with adherence to offshore preservation guidelines.
• Maintaining inventory control and tracking material traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Preparing and managing all necessary documentation and reports related to material handling.
• Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
• Following project specifications rigorously.
• Applying offshore preservation standards, including weather protection measures and periodic inspections with re-preservation as needed.
• Monitoring critical and long-lead items to prevent project delays on site.
• Assisting in preparing material dossiers for project completion handover.
• Coordinating with clients and project teams to manage surplus material disposition effectively.
• Upholding high housekeeping levels in laydown and warehouse zones.
• Enforcing safe practices in material handling, lifting operations, and access methods.
