Description de l'emploi

Role overview

The Manager Risk is responsible for driving the department’s enterprise risk management framework, ensuring it is implemented effectively and continuously improved. This role provides high-level risk guidance to help leaders make well-informed decisions across the organisation.

Reporting to the Director, Audit and Risk, the position works closely with senior executives and governance committees to lift risk maturity, spot emerging threats and opportunities, and support sound organisational decision making. It also advises the department and the Audit and Risk Management Committee on applying the Victorian Government Risk Management Framework and identifying key risk trends and issues.

This position is central to building a strong risk culture that supports the department in achieving its objectives.

What you will do

  • Guide the ongoing rollout and refinement of the department’s enterprise risk framework, related policies, and supporting tools so they remain aligned with strategic priorities, new and emerging risks, and current best practice.
  • Plan and oversee how risk management principles, approaches, and processes are applied across the department’s divisions, making sure the work is practical, proportionate, and tied to business and operational needs.
  • Deliver strategic risk analysis and advice to senior leaders and governance bodies, including the Audit and Risk Management Committee and the Executive Board, and coordinate regular reporting and updates for the Executive Board.

What we're looking for

  • A leader in risk management who can build trust, influence senior stakeholders, and work in partnership across the organisation.
  • Someone who can communicate clearly and turn complex risk matters into practical executive-level insights.
  • A professional who can identify emerging risks and opportunities and use that insight to support better organisational decisions.
  • Experience or interest in strengthening risk maturity and driving ongoing improvement in risk practices.
  • A people-focused leader who enjoys developing others and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
