The Manager of Portfolio Management leads a key team responsible for managing the Reserve Bank's balance sheet and overseeing its active role in financial markets. This position, based in central Auckland or Wellington, involves close collaboration with senior leadership and other managerial peers within the Financial Markets directorate. As a domain expert, the manager drives strategic direction, fosters continuous process improvements, and ensures operational excellence. Day-to-day responsibilities include executing transactions in wholesale financial markets to implement monetary policy, support domestic banking sector liquidity, and manage the Bank's foreign reserves portfolio.

• Demonstrated leadership within financial markets or central banking environments.

• Solid understanding of central bank functions in financial markets.

• Familiarity with key market and credit risk methodologies, and overseeing financial market risks within delegated authority.
