About the Role
Fulton Hogan seeks a proactive Management Accountant to join the Hawke's Bay team, working hands-on with operational leaders to support astute commercial decisions and maintain financial accuracy and progress. This role collaborates closely with the Finance Manager, administrative personnel, and the broader organization to deliver impactful financial insights. The position spans across Napier and Hastings offices, ideal for candidates who appreciate variety and building strong inter-location relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end processes including journal entries, reconciliations, detailed analysis, and profit and loss reviews with management.
- Assist in project forecasting, preparing annual budgets, and developing business cases for capital investments.
- Oversee capital submissions and manage CAPEX administration tasks.
- Collaborate with quarry operations on production planning, demand forecasting, inventory management, and daily accounting activities.
- Work alongside all operational teams to deliver financial analysis, P&L forecasting, and provide training on financial reporting tools and business systems.
- Ensure adherence to accounting policies, reporting schedules, and governance standards.
- Promote and support safe, compliant, and high-quality work practices while contributing to regional projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a relevant tertiary qualification alongside CA or CPA accreditation.
- Experience or strong knowledge of civil contracting is beneficial.
- Manufacturing sector experience is desirable but not mandatory.
- Excellent analytical capabilities with the aptitude to convert financial data into actionable insights.
- Self-driven, responsible, and comfortable working both independently and within a team environment.
- Collaborative approach, sound judgment, and a dedicated focus on safety, quality, and excellent work standards.
