About the Role
We are seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our dedicated team and contribute to the upkeep and efficient operation of our village communities. Our mission is to foster genuine communities that enrich the lives of residents daily.
In this position, you will be instrumental in sustaining the safety, comfort, and aesthetic appeal of both private residences and shared spaces. Your role will involve assisting with repairs, performing general maintenance, and supporting larger-scale projects. A hands-on, problem-solving attitude is essential to help maintain our villages as safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform repair tasks supporting preventative maintenance activities, including legionella management, residential inspections, site surveys, and general repairs.
- Manage repair requests submitted by residents and colleagues by prioritizing and implementing effective solutions.
- Promptly identify and report damages or defects to facilitate timely corrective actions.
- Carry out residential inspections, monitor issues, and deliver practical maintenance solutions.
- Assist the groundskeeping team with gardening, landscaping, and exterior maintenance duties.
- Participate in the village minibus driving rota when required.
- Provide support to the Head of Maintenance with repair work related to new building defects.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in building repairs, property maintenance, or grounds care.
- Possession of a full UK driving licence.
- Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
- Strong communication skills; confident, approachable, and professional demeanor.
- Relevant certifications in building trades, maintenance, or health and safety are beneficial but practical experience is highly valued.
