Job Overview

The position demands fostering a positive and proactive Industrial Relations (IR) environment at the KGD6 site in Kakinada. The role includes ensuring adherence to all legal and statutory regulations, supporting leadership in grievance resolutions using consultative methods, and conducting periodic IR climate assessments to detect potential risks, including those arising from community interactions that might affect industrial relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and uphold best practices across Administration, Facilities Management, Industrial Relations, and Legal Compliance.
  • Oversee services such as catering, facilities management, guest houses, mail handling, employee transport, and hotel bookings ensuring optimal use of transport resources.
  • Manage budget planning, processing of purchase requests, and contract finalizations to guarantee high-quality vendor services.
  • Ensure all statutory and legal compliances related to contract labor are met, obtaining necessary approvals from relevant authorities.
  • Manage office assets distribution and carry out inventory monitoring across all premises, including the shore base.
  • Lead organization of events, employee welfare programs, and engagement activities.
  • Develop and enforce SOPs for smooth operations and maintaining service quality standards.
  • Provide regular management information system (MIS) reports, feedback, cost analyses of administrative services, and vendor performance assessments to the HR Head.
  • Design, evaluate, and improve policies, processes, systems, and infrastructure to enhance contract labor relations and sustain a harmonious IR environment.
  • Conduct audits, validate contractor compliance, and manage inquiries during inspections and compliance reviews.
  • Report on statutory compliance status through MIS reports, identify gaps, and suggest corrective measures.
  • Interface with statutory bodies like the Factory Inspector and Labor Officials regarding plant matters.
  • Coordinate with the Legal Counsel on ongoing court cases, monitor progress, and produce management legal update reports.
  • Maintain oversight on discipline and IR intelligence throughout the plant, shore base, and port areas.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A graduate or postgraduate degree in Management, Social Studies, Industrial Relations & Personnel Management, or Law (preferred).
  • Between 10 to 15 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Mandatory competency in Telugu.
  • Strategic thinker capable of balancing immediate priorities with long-term goals.
