About the Role
This full-time position requires a commitment of 30 to 40 hours weekly, with a flexible schedule and open availability at a location in Brookline, MA. The Lead Budtender plays a central role in shaping customer interactions and maximizing sales outcomes. Beyond individual performance, this role also involves operational leadership and mentoring peers to uphold exceptional service standards and business goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive training and onboarding for new employees as well as educate the team on new product launches and skills enhancement.
- Guide associates in consultative selling methods including cross-selling and upselling, helping to increase customer satisfaction and store revenue.
- Collaborate with management to communicate sales targets, key business metrics, and reinforce productive behaviors within the team.
- Occasionally serve as Manager on Duty, overseeing operational duties such as store opening/closing, cash handling, and security management.
- Exemplify superior customer service that promotes long-lasting loyalty and trust.
- Offer expert advice on cannabis products covering therapeutic goals, product effects, dosing, and preferred consumption methods.
- Handle patient intake and maintain records adhering to privacy and regulatory compliance.
- Process customer transactions precisely using POS systems.
- Efficiently manage and resolve customer issues to strengthen brand trust.
- Support merchandising tasks ensuring promotional displays and product knowledge are aligned with current marketing efforts.
- Keep accurate records of all store activities as required by applicable laws.
- Encourage a collaborative, accountable team environment focusing on ongoing improvements.
- Undertake other duties or special projects as designated to contribute to overall store efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must be 21 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Possession of a valid government-issued photo ID is mandatory.
- At least two years of experience in retail or a customer-centric role where sales and service are pivotal.
- Proven track record in driving sales and influencing team performance.
- Availability to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong multitasking aptitude with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to professionally handle and defuse customer conflicts.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Leadership experience and a history of coaching retail teams are preferred.
- Background in the cannabis industry is an advantage.

Compensation
