Role Summary
The Lead Civil Engineer will be responsible for the oversight and assurance of quality in all civil construction activities related to Extra High Voltage (EHV) pooling substations at 400kV, 220kV, and 33kV levels. This role emphasizes the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance and control systems to ensure defect-free construction compliant with project specifications and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and sustain QA/QC systems for civil construction tasks.
- Review and approve materials and supplier/vendor documentation.
- Oversee laboratory testing and maintain detailed quality records.
- Conduct inspections of foundations, excavations, backfilling, RCC, structural components, roads, drainage, and building structures.
- Supervise concrete quality control and reinforcement works.
- Evaluate material test certificates and inspection documentation for compliance.
- Perform contractor quality assessments and lead audit activities.
- Ensure timely resolution of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective measures.
- Deliver quality-related training and awareness sessions for project teams.
- Coordinate effectively with EPC contractors, consultants, and all project stakeholders.
- Guarantee adherence to applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Experience with civil construction projects associated with 400kV/220kV/33kV substations.
- In-depth knowledge of concrete technology, structural inspections, and quality assurance/control procedures.
- Strong expertise in QA, QC, and health, safety, and environment (HSE) practices.
Education and Eligibility
A B.E. or B.Tech degree in any specialization is required to qualify for this role.
