Role Overview
The Junior Purchaser role is a full-time onsite position based in Sharjah. The position involves supporting the procurement team via product sourcing, soliciting and evaluating quotations, and generating purchase orders following company protocols. Daily tasks include supplier coordination, updating procurement and inventory records, monitoring delivery timelines, and pursuing outstanding orders to ensure prompt reception. The Junior Purchaser will also aid in price negotiations, maintain thorough documentation, and liaise with finance and logistics teams to address any discrepancies. Collaboration with coworkers, adherence to established procurement standards, and participation in enhancing purchasing workflows are essential to this role.
Qualifications & Skills
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management abilities to manage multiple purchase requests and deadlines.
- Foundational understanding of procurement or supply chain activities such as sourcing, price comparison, and order processing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Word; familiarity with ERP or inventory management software is preferred.
- Effective communication skills, capable of professional interactions with suppliers and internal teams via email and phone.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills to evaluate pricing proposals, conduct cost analysis, and review ordering information.
- Willingness to work onsite in Sharjah and collaborate well within a team setting, following formal procedures and documentation requirements.
- Relevant diploma or bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or equivalent fields is desirable.
- Previous internship or entry-level experience in purchasing, trading, or logistics is advantageous but not required.
