Role Overview
The Junior Logistics Coordinator will support daily logistics activities through administrative tasks, maintain relationships with logistics partners, monitor supplier performance, organize import/export compliance documents, and address freight billing issues. This entry-level, administration-oriented position is suited for organized communicators eager to develop expertise in global logistics, carrier relations, and international trade documentation. This is an on-site role based in Toronto, Ontario.
Candidate Profile
- Meticulous in maintaining accurate and well-organized records.
- Proactive in identifying shipment issues and billing inconsistencies early.
- Effective communicator with internal teams, carriers, brokers, and third-party logistics providers.
- Motivated to enhance skills in logistics operations, carrier management, and trade compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Zero to two years of experience in administrative, customer service, or entry-level office roles; logistics experience is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite is a plus.
- High attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive mindset toward problem resolution.
Learning Opportunities
- Understanding end-to-end global logistics involving carriers, forwarders, brokers, and 3PL partners.
- Comprehending carrier performance evaluation and improvement through scorecards and metrics.
- Gaining insight into freight invoicing, accessorial charges, and accounts payable reconciliation processes.
- Learning about trade documentation and customs compliance essential for timely international shipments.
