Role Overview

The Junior Design Consultant functions as a vital resource within the showroom, providing superior customer support, assisting with product selections, and supporting sales initiatives. Responsibilities include managing sample requests, maintaining stockroom and showroom presentation, and collaborating with sales and internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide customers in choosing products by advising on patterns, colors, trims, and available options.
• Support sales by suggesting products tailored to client and project requirements.
• Handle special orders and custom requests for showroom clients.
• Manage fulfillment, packaging, and shipping of memo sample requests in the region.
• Prepare, measure, cut, and customize product samples to assist sales opportunities.
• Accurately create and process reservations, quotes, and customer orders.
• Maintain organized and attractive showroom displays and product presentations.
• Oversee stockroom organization, inventory management of memo samples, and product storage.
• Assist with inventory audits and related tasks as needed.
• Support Outside Sales Associates by preparing sample kits, aiding client presentations, and managing showroom needs.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure efficient customer service and operational effectiveness.
• Contribute ideas and efforts to enhance showroom operations and overall customer experience.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Associate or Bachelor's degree required.
• Between 1 to 3 years in customer service, retail, showroom, hospitality, or sales support roles.

Preferred Background

• Experience in showroom environments, design sectors, or luxury merchandise.
• Knowledge of interior design, textiles, furnishings, or related industries.
• History of supporting sales teams and client-facing roles.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
• Familiarity with order entry systems, CRM, or inventory management preferred.
• Ability to precisely measure, cut, prepare, and organize product samples.
• Basic understanding of interior design elements, textiles, trims, or luxury furnishings favored.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary range between $50,000 and $54,000.
• Competitive pay plus incentive opportunities.
