About the Role
This position offers an entry-level opportunity in corporate accounting within a rapidly expanding energy company headquartered in Corpus Christi. The company is one of the largest energy firms in the U.S. with a strong growth track record, including a 300% increase in stock value over the last five years and business size doubled in the past year.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle the complete accounts payable process, including invoice handling, verification of vendors, and monitoring expenses.
- Record transactional accounting entries to maintain precise financial data supporting audits and internal evaluations.
- Prepare monthly closing documents and contribute to variance analysis comparing actuals with budgetary targets.
- File local taxes ensuring compliance with state and county regulations.
- Assist with external audits and uphold adherence to internal controls, US GAAP standards, and organizational policies.
- Coordinate with operational teams and vendors to promptly address and resolve financial discrepancies.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
- Possesses up to two years of accounting experience preferably within corporate or public accounting environments.
- Demonstrates a firm understanding of US GAAP and internal control frameworks.
- Exhibits careful attention to detail, maintains confidentiality, and functions effectively both independently and collaboratively.
