Job description
Role Overview
Green Rebel is looking to hire an IT Specialist to develop and manage the company's IT infrastructure, focusing on hardware and software systems that handle extensive aerial and marine datasets. This role is centered at the main office in Crosshaven, County Cork, with responsibility for computer systems at multiple harbour locations and onboard company aircraft and vessels.
Primary Responsibilities
- Installing, overseeing, and resolving issues related to company IT hardware and software.
- Guaranteeing the safety and security of data storage solutions.
- Maintaining daily support of the company's computer network operations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A degree in computer science or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in administering Linux operating systems.
- Experience working with networking, especially high-speed networks.
- Knowledge of storage and disk-array technologies including NAS, SAN, and DAS.
- Competence with Windows Server environments and Active Directory services.
Preferred Experience
- Database management and database server knowledge.
- Working familiarity with NMEA data buffers, network switches, and serial converters.
- Understanding of GPS (GNSS) technology.

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and paid holiday allowances. The position is based onsite at Green Rebel's headquarters in Crosshaven, with duties extending to other harbour sites and company vehicles.
