Role Overview

The Interpreter role is crucial in ensuring the precise and effective delivery of EDGE's training programs to Arabic-speaking clients and participants. Serving as the communication conduit between trainers and learners, the interpreter guarantees flawless knowledge transfer in both classroom and hands-on training settings. This position requires managing interpretation, translation, and active involvement in training scenarios to maintain the highest standards of technical accuracy and contextual relevance, while also handling client interactions discreetly and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide precise simultaneous interpretation between English and Arabic during instructional and practical sessions, preserving technical details and contextual meaning.
• Translate training materials, curricula, and documentation in both directions, ensuring accurate terminology and original intent are retained.
• Offer interpretation support for client meetings and stakeholder engagements with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Participate in role-playing activities within training scenarios to enhance realism and learning effectiveness.
• Translate client correspondence clearly and consistently, maintaining a professional tone across communications.

Required Qualifications

• Fluency in both Arabic and English at native or near-native levels, with proven professional competence.
• Experience in simultaneous interpretation, especially within technical, professional, or defense/security training contexts.
• Formal education in translation, interpretation, linguistics, or a related field (Bachelor's degree or equivalent).
• Skilled in translating complex technical or instructional content with a focus on contextual accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with vocabulary and concepts related to defense, security, law enforcement, or advanced industries in both languages.
• Certification from recognized interpretation or translation organizations (such as CIOL or ITI).
• Experience supporting bilingual scenario-based or simulation training.
• Understanding of Gulf region cultural and operational contexts, particularly in client-facing or formal institutional environments.
