Position Overview

We are looking for a versatile Industrial Designer to join us on a 12-month full-time contract with potential for extension based on performance. This hybrid role involves one remote workday weekly. The successful candidate will contribute to active client projects and assist in developing new product lines for upcoming collections. You will work closely with design and production teams to produce detailed 3D models, physical prototypes, shop drawings, and manage Bill of Materials (BOM). You will also lead specialized client projects from concept through pre-production, conduct market research, and assist in production as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate effectively with design and production teams to create precise and fabrication-ready 3D models with ongoing updates.
• Engage in new product development from initial concepts to prototype sampling for 2026-2027 collections.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive client shop drawings and technical documentation.
• Maintain and create BOM to support production processes.
• Lead custom or specialty client projects through all stages from concept design to pre-production.
• Conduct research on market trends, precedents, and design possibilities to inform product development.
• Develop project and product proposals as required.
• Provide production support when needed.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Design or comparable field.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in a related design position.
• Proficiency with Fusion360 software.
• Experienced in BOM management and client-based project execution.
• Skilled in physical prototyping from concept to operational models.
• A keen visual sense and aesthetic creativity.
• Ability to read and produce technical drawings.
• Fast learner, self-organized, and detail-oriented.
• Collaborative team player with leadership capabilities.
• Goal-focused with strong ability to meet deadlines.

Additional Assets

• Experience with table-driven design methodologies.
• Familiarity with architectural design or architectural lighting sectors.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Experience in professional 3D rendering tools such as Keyshot or D5 Render.
• Working knowledge of Rhino3D software.
• Basic coding skills.

Terms and Compensation

• This is a 12-month full-time contract position with a salary range of $20 to $25 per hour.
• The role is hybrid, with one day per week working from home.
• Successful completion of the probation period may lead to a permanent full-time role with increased responsibilities and decision-making authority within the company.
