About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team at Supreme Staffing in Memphis, TN. This part-time position, offering between 10 and 25 hours per week with a possibility of transitioning to full-time (not guaranteed), encompasses a wide range of HR responsibilities aimed at fostering a supportive and compliant workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive recruitment efforts by sourcing candidates through multiple platforms, conducting interviews, and managing applicant tracking systems to ensure timely hiring.
- Oversee comprehensive onboarding and orientation programs to enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Manage employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies including FMLA.
- Conduct performance appraisals and support employee development aligned with organizational goals.
- Utilize HR information systems and Excel for accurate data management and strategic HR decision-making.
- Ensure strict adherence to employment laws, labor standards, OSHA regulations, and other legal requirements throughout HR functions.
- Assist with change management and organization design initiatives to improve workforce effectiveness.
- Address employee relations matters confidentially, mediating conflicts as necessary.
- Develop affirmative action plans, succession strategies, and employee training and development programs.
- Supervise payroll processing through platforms like ADP or Paychex ensuring proper record-keeping and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records regarding workers' compensation claims and oversee related regulatory reporting.
Required Skills and Expertise
- Solid background in human resources management with strong knowledge of employment and labor law.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, UltiPro, or Taleo.
- Experience in project management, strategic planning, and workforce management.
- Expertise in benefits administration, payroll processing, and performance management systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage confidential information.
- Strong analytical capabilities with advanced Excel skills for data reporting.
- Familiarity with social media for employer branding purposes.
- Competency in conflict resolution and employee relations.
- Ability to adapt rapidly to dynamic work environments.
- Administrative experience supporting HR teams with data entry and documentation tasks.
