Role Overview

Digicel Group is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support HR programmes and day-to-day people operations across the employee journey. In this position, you will work closely with leaders and employees to provide both operational and advisory support, helping deliver HR initiatives that align with business goals and strengthen the employee experience.

What You Will Do

  • Assist with HR activities across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, engagement, compliance, and administration.
  • Provide practical guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and standard practices.
  • Help implement people initiatives and HR strategies that support business objectives.
  • Develop effective working relationships with leaders in assigned business areas.
  • Handle employee and manager questions, escalating more complex issues when needed.
  • Support organizational change efforts and related communications.
  • Coordinate recruitment from vacancy approval through onboarding, including interview scheduling and candidate communication.
  • Prepare offer paperwork, onboarding documents, and new-hire orientation arrangements.
  • Work with hiring managers to deliver a positive candidate and onboarding experience.
  • Contribute to employer branding, career fairs, and university recruitment activities.
  • Provide first-line support on employee relations matters, including investigations, grievances, disciplinary cases, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure HR policies and employment law are applied consistently while keeping information confidential.
  • Escalate sensitive or complex employee relations matters to the HR Director as appropriate.
  • Support the performance management cycle, including goal setting, mid-year and year-end reviews.

  • Coordinate learning sessions, training logistics, and leadership development activities.

  • Support employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and culture-building activities.
  • Assist with surveys, focus groups, and action planning to improve the employee experience.
  • Support CSR and volunteer initiatives, HR events, and employee communications.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in SuccessFactors and other HR systems.
  • Prepare HR letters and other documentation relating to personnel changes.
  • Support payroll by submitting approved employee changes on time, including incentives, overtime, commission, and allowances.
  • Assist with HR audits, reporting, compliance checks, policies, procedures, and employee file maintenance.
  • Produce monthly HR dashboards and reports covering recruitment, turnover, training, absenteeism, and performance completion.
  • Support HR transformation projects and other special initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management, Psychology, or a similar field.
  • Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR, CIPD, or an equivalent credential.
  • Microsoft Office certification, with strong preference for Excel.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms, preferably SuccessFactors.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist capacity.
  • Background in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR administration.
  • Working knowledge of Jamaican labour laws and established HR practices.
  • Exposure to payroll support and HR reporting would be an advantage.
  • Strong customer orientation and relationship-building ability.
  • Clear communication skills, strong confidentiality, and a high level of attention to detail.
