Position Overview
The Housekeeper on the 2nd shift is tasked with maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in all staff facilities. Duties include garbage removal in break areas, laundering plant-floor uniforms (frocks), managing cleaning supply inventories, and adhering to company policies and procedures. This role requires attention to detail and operational coordination across multiple cleaning and maintenance tasks.
Schedule and Compensation
- Pay rate is $16 per hour, plus a $0.50 shift differential.
- 2nd Shift hours: Primarily 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.
- Alternate 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, Monday through Thursday (floating schedule).
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize cleaning chemicals safely and effectively.
- Operate machinery including floor scrubbers, washers, and dryers.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of cleaning materials.
- Thoroughly clean floors, walls, windows, lunchroom, and restroom facilities.
- Fold cleaned frocks properly and ensure equipment readiness at start-up.
- Follow production schedules and meet established goals.
- Ensure that products meet specifications and are properly labeled.
- Monitor workflow to optimize machine output efficiency.
- Keep precise records of production and material usage.
- Identify and propose improvements to support activity quality.
- Perform varied tasks as assigned by supervisory staff to respond to operational demands.
Administrative Duties
- Organize and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
- Read and write clearly for documentation and instructions.
- Comply with verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
Safety Compliance
- Observe and report unsafe behaviors.
- Adhere strictly to OSHA guidelines.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as earplugs, hairnets, beard-nets, protective eyewear, and slip-resistant footwear.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience, especially in industrial or plant settings, is advantageous.
Additional Information
The pay range for this role is approximately $13.50 to $18.57 per hour, influenced by various factors such as market conditions, internal equity, location, and candidate experience or skills. Physical Requirements
This role requires standing, walking, manual dexterity, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly, and sometimes up to 50 pounds, along with close vision abilities. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities are possible.
Work Environment
You will be working in a plant and office environment with variable temperatures and noise levels, exposure to manufacturing equipment, and potential wet or slippery surfaces. Occasional travel may be necessary.
