Head – Sourcing (Raw Materials)

About the Role

Techno Sport is looking to appoint a strategic Head of Sourcing responsible for procuring raw materials including fabric, sewing trims, and packaging supplies. This key leadership role supports uninterrupted garment production by overseeing comprehensive sourcing operations aligned with organizational goals, driving cost efficiency, quality assurance, and continuous process enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end sourcing of fabrics, sewing trims, packaging materials, and accessories.
• Formulate and execute sourcing strategies in line with business objectives, cost parameters, and quality benchmarks.
• Guarantee timely material availability to meet production deadlines without interruptions.
• Manage domestic and international suppliers to secure competitive pricing, reliability, and quality.
• Negotiate contracts, finalize commercial terms, and onboard new vendors to diversify and strengthen the supplier base.
• Supervise inventory planning and control for trims and packaging, coordinating demand forecasts with planning and production teams.
• Balance inventory levels to optimize working capital and meet production needs efficiently.
• Standardize and refine procurement processes and SOPs, championing digital transformation in sourcing and inventory management.
• Enforce compliance with corporate policies, audits, and industry regulations.
• Lead and mentor the sourcing team, fostering high performance and clear accountability through KPIs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with production, merchandising, design, and quality teams to ensure cohesive execution.
• Maintain strategic supplier relationships, oversee supplier performance on cost, quality, and delivery, and conduct regular performance reviews, implementing corrective actions where needed.
• Identify and mitigate sourcing risks such as price volatility, supply disruptions, and quality issues.
• Quickly resolve procurement challenges using sound judgment and decision-making.
• Provide regular reports on sourcing metrics including cost savings, supplier performance, inventory status, and service levels to senior management, offering data-driven improvement suggestions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Technology, Fashion Technology, or related disciplines.
• 7-10 years of sourcing experience within the garment industry, with expertise in fabric, sewing trims, and packaging materials sourcing.
• Proven leadership experience managing end-to-end sourcing operations and teams.
• Strong commercial insight coupled with effective negotiation skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Capability to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, inventory management software, and procurement platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and analytical reporting tools.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Tamil and Hindi is advantageous.
