About ENABLE Glasgow and the Role

ENABLE Glasgow is a community-focused charity dedicated to supporting adults with learning disabilities along with their carers and families in Glasgow. We are currently seeking a Handy Person to join our professional team at the Esmond Street Advanced Support Service located in Yorkhill, Glasgow. This unique service offers a high standard of 24/7 supported living to 22 adults with learning disabilities who are elderly and/or have advanced needs.

Your Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive outlook regarding the personal growth and community roles of service users.
• Conduct routine maintenance and light repairs throughout the facility.
• Perform general landscaping duties to maintain outdoor areas.
• Carry out painting and decorating assignments, including filling gaps and surface refinishing.
• Handle lighting installations and carpet fitting tasks.
• Repair various equipment, machines, and household appliances.
• Identify, log, and report required maintenance and repair work.
• Propose additional repairs when discovered during routine inspection.
• Work shifts including unsocial hours as necessary to meet service demands.
• Report directly to the Service Manager and follow ENABLE Glasgow’s management structure.
• Participate in relevant training programs for continuous professional development.
• Comply with all ENABLE Glasgow policies, operational procedures, and workplace guidelines.
• Perform any other duties deemed relevant by the management team.
