Guided by its “Building Better” approach, the organisation combines practical experience, innovation, and consistent execution to create long-term value for clients, partners, and the wider community.

About the Role

  • A solid working knowledge of payroll laws, industrial awards, enterprise agreements, and related compliance obligations.
  • Hands-on experience with full payroll processing, reconciliations, and payroll reporting.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability, including interpreting payroll data and spotting patterns or issues.
  • Careful attention to detail, with a strong commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to meet strict payroll deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills and the confidence to deal professionally with employees, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience working with payroll, time and attendance, and finance systems such as HumanForce or comparable platforms.
  • The ability to help improve payroll processes, strengthen system performance, and support payroll governance.

Key Duties

  • Run payroll for all group entities and ensure pay is processed accurately and on time.
  • Handle payroll changes such as new hires, exits, timesheets, corrections, and off-cycle payments.
  • Work out termination pay, issue Separation Certificates, and manage payroll requirements for employee departures.
  • Keep payroll records current, including tax details, bank accounts, and supporting documents.
  • Prepare payroll journals, reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger entries.
  • Manage payroll cash processes, including ABA file creation, banking uploads, and intercompany transfers.
  • Complete payroll-related statutory reporting and lodgements such as PAYG, IAS, superannuation, and workers compensation.
  • Support end-of-financial-year activities, including reconciliations, leave provision calculations, STP finalisation, and audit preparation.
  • Produce payroll, labour cost, and headcount reports for Finance, HR, and leadership teams.
  • Share payroll data and analysis to assist with workforce planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business decisions.
  • Maintain payroll and HumanForce systems, including testing, upgrades, integrations, and data quality checks.
  • Look for ways to streamline payroll operations, improve reporting, increase efficiency, and support automation.
  • Keep payroll procedures and documentation accurate and up to date for compliance and knowledge transfer.
  • Serve as the main contact for payroll queries and provide support to employees and managers.
  • Work closely with Finance and People & Culture to ensure payroll information flows correctly.
  • Support a workplace culture built on accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and professional, ethical representation of DCOH.
