Position Overview
4imprint seeks a Graphic Artist responsible for crafting digital images for imprinting on promotional products. The role involves close collaboration with the customer service team to ensure artwork meets client and vendor specifications, along with supporting other departments as needed.
Daily Responsibilities
- Refine faxed and bitmap logos or client copy to prepare clean artwork.
- Perform typesetting and prepare proofs for customer orders.
- Create line illustrations derived from photos and other references.
- Convert diverse file formats into vector-based images.
- Modify existing designs/layouts to accommodate imprinting on various promotional items.
- Stay updated on latest industry trends and techniques relevant to the role.
- Participate actively in training sessions and pursue professional development opportunities.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is tactful, friendly, and professional in communication via phone and email. They are capable of multitasking, proactively resolving issues, and working effectively under deadlines. Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential, along with proficiency in illustration and computer-generated production art.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of a two-year degree in Graphic Arts or equivalent experience.
- Between 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Skilled in Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw and Photoshop, with knowledge of current software updates.
- Understanding of production art terminology and techniques.
- Experience with imprinting methods and familiarity with the promotional products industry is advantageous.
Work Environment & Conditions
The position reports to the Art Manager with typical working hours Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM. Initial onsite training in Oshkosh, WI is mandatory for approximately 6 to 12 months after which remote work from Wisconsin is available. There may be occasions requiring scheduled return to onsite work. Employment is contingent on passing background, education, reference, and drug screening. The drug test covers marijuana, cocaine metabolites, phencyclidine, amphetamines, and opiates. This is a non-exempt position under FLSA regulations.
