Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to become part of a supervision consultancy team focused on a significant transport infrastructure project located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The position entails overseeing geotechnical operations to confirm adherence to design parameters and supplying expert technical assistance throughout the construction phase.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and authorize geotechnical design documentation, soil test results, and foundation proposals.
- Oversee on-site geotechnical activities including piling, shoring, excavation, and soil stabilization processes.
- Verify that all geotechnical works comply with project specifications, codes, and approved plans.
- Liaise with design engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address geotechnical concerns.
- Track construction activities and offer technical solutions to site challenges.
- Assess method statements, review submitted materials, and approve inspection requests.
- Perform site inspections and compile detailed technical reports.
- Maintain safety and quality assurance standards throughout the project.
Qualifications
- A degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering is required.
- Possess 10 to 15 years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Experience with engineering consultancy firms, preferably Tier 1 or Tier 2, is essential.
- Demonstrated involvement in transport infrastructure projects such as roads, highways, bridges, or railways.
- Substantial background in supervision or project management consultancy roles rather than solely design-focused tasks.
- Proficient knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation design, and ground improvement methods.
- Familiarity with international standards and previous work experience within the Middle East region is advantageous.
