Job description

Role Overview

A highly established and successful gaming company based in Hamburg is hiring a Game Analyst to join their Analytics team. Working remotely within Germany, you will be expected to transform LiveOps and monetisation challenges into actionable insights that enhance player events, offers, and economies while driving sustainable revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously track and analyze event cycles, feature launches, and in-game promotions, identifying potential pacing concerns, spikes in difficulty, and signals for player churn.
  • Assess in-game economy elements including sinks, sources, inflation of resources, and progression bottlenecks, recommending calibrations that maintain fairness, enjoyment, and profitability.
  • Co-manage A/B testing for events and monetization features by setting hypotheses, defining success criteria and safeguards, and quantifying effects such as incremental gains, cannibalisation, and long-term impacts.
  • Monitor the user funnel from acquisition to offer engagement and translate data into actionable strategies.
  • Create and upkeep self-service reporting tools that facilitate prompt decision making throughout live events and retrospective analyses.
  • Work collaboratively with designers, product managers, and developers to enhance tracking approaches, clarify KPIs, and communicate results effectively to inspire informed decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Confirmed experience within the gaming industry is essential.
  • More than two years in product or game analytics focused on Free-to-Play games with direct familiarity in LiveOps and monetisation elements such as events, offers, economy management, and segmentation.
  • Advanced SQL capabilities capable of handling large datasets, verifying tracking integrity, and performing complex queries including joins, window functions, and cohort/funnel analyses.
  • Strong statistical knowledge encompassing experiment design, statistical significance, and awareness of biases, able to balance thoroughness and speed in dynamic LiveOps settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for quick data analysis and Power BI to craft clear dashboards; working knowledge of AI tools and Python for analytical purposes.
  • Deep understanding of Free-to-Play economics including aspects like conversion rates, player lifetime value, price sensitivity, and cannibalisation, with a keen interest in industry developments.
  • Excellent ability to convey insights effectively to various audiences with clarity and decisiveness.
  • Autonomous, results-oriented mindset with the capacity to operate efficiently within LiveOps cycles and always seek meaningful interpretations behind metrics.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary between €55,000 and €72,000 gross annually, with exact pay depending on experience level.
  • Flexible, trust-based scheduling paired with on-site amenities including table tennis, gym access, and a rooftop terrace.
  • Robust learning and development opportunities such as e-learning modules, skill-focused training, and attendance at relevant industry conferences.
  • 28 days of paid holiday per calendar year.
  • Optional German language classes offered to employees.
  • Engaging team social activities including wine tastings, cooking sessions, paintball, rooftop barbecues, and broader company events.
