Role Overview
Step into an engaging and multifaceted position centered around event coordination and community outreach. As a Future Student Advisor at James Cook University (JCU), you will have the responsibility to represent the University externally, cultivate meaningful partnerships with schools and organizations, and contribute significantly to how potential students perceive and interact with higher education.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and expand a portfolio of relationships with schools and external community groups, influencing future students' educational pathways and fostering sustained engagement with JCU.
- Collaborate closely with School Career and Guidance Officers, educational institutions, and community partners to establish JCU as a preferred university.
- Represent the university at diverse events such as school visits, career fairs, and public expos, enhancing facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and external representation skills.
- Engage with prospective students and their families to support their inquiries and monitor the impact of strong relationships on individual outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a degree in Marketing, Communications, Events, Education, or related disciplines, complemented by relevant experience; alternatively, a combination of formal education and substantial work experience.
- Proven capabilities in customer sales and event management with a swift aptitude for acquiring detailed knowledge about university offerings.
- Ability to work independently within broad guidelines and effectively contribute to team success while maintaining high performance standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated through effective development and management of key stakeholder relationships.
- Competence in engaging and influencing customers through compelling oral and written presentations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with various software platforms such as content management systems, customer relationship management tools, marketing automation, and social media applications.
- Desirable: an understanding of the Australian higher education landscape.
Special Conditions and Compliance
- The role may entail regional travel including overnight stays and occasional after-hours commitments.
- Requirement to hold a valid Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card), a current Queensland ‘C’ class Driver’s Licence, and a First Aid Certificate.

- Remuneration level HEWL 6 with a salary range from $90,821 to $98,369 plus up to 17% superannuation contributions.
