Role overview
This is an ongoing freelance editing opportunity with a photography and videography business serving weddings and events in Australia. The work suits a creative editor who enjoys shaping raw footage into polished, emotionally engaging stories with a cinematic feel.
You will produce wedding highlight films, short event edits, and social-first clips that reflect the tone and memories of each occasion. The arrangement is remote and designed to provide steady freelance assignments, with a strong emphasis on quality, consistency, and timely delivery.
Core deliverables
- Cut wedding highlight films of around 5 to 10 minutes, along with event videos presented in a cinematic and emotional style.
- Produce Instagram Reels and other short-form pieces optimized for social media use.
- Align audio and video cleanly so the final story flows naturally.
- Carry out basic colour correction and, when possible, more advanced colour grading.
- Keep every edit polished, professional, and aligned with the project brief.
- Submit completed videos within the agreed turnaround schedule.
- Work remotely with clear, responsive communication to confirm requirements and expectations.
Requirements
- Background in editing weddings and events, supported by a portfolio that shows relevant work.
- Comfort using Adobe Premiere Pro, with DaVinci Resolve also preferred; colour grading ability is an advantage.
- Strong grasp of cinematic editing and narrative-driven, emotional storytelling.
- Ability to sync sound and picture, apply basic colour fixes, and finish videos to a professional standard.
- High attention to detail and a consistent focus on quality.
- Dependable, self-driven, and able to balance multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Access to suitable editing software and a reliable high-speed internet connection for transferring files.
- Willingness to take on ongoing freelance assignments and stay communicative throughout the process.
