Role Summary
The Finance team at Sydney Airport plays a pivotal role in enabling confident and commercially viable business decisions. As the FP&A Manager for Commercial, you will collaborate closely with the Commercial division encompassing Property, Retail, Hotels, and Car Parks. Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, you will lead a team of five Senior Financial Analysts and Financial Analysts, dedicated to enhancing team capabilities, optimizing processes, and ensuring accurate, high-quality financial planning, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and modeling to support strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts for the Commercial business unit, aligning with corporate planning and forecasting needs.
- Deliver thorough reporting, variance analyses, and actionable insights to uncover performance drivers, risks, and opportunities, enabling corrective measures.
- Develop and refine advanced financial models including EBITDA driver-based frameworks, scenario planning, and sensitivity analyses to aid in valuation and strategic decisions.
- Manage financial business cases and analyses for significant commercial initiatives such as third-party agreements and new product launches.
- Initiate process enhancements, automation, and leverage tools like Power BI to improve efficiency in financial analysis and reporting workflows.
- Mentor and lead a team of five analysts, cultivating a culture of collaboration, curiosity, continuous improvement, and excellent stakeholder engagement.
Candidate Profile
- Seasoned finance leader with substantial FP&A expertise including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and business performance management.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing and coaching teams in fast-moving, commercial environments.
- Competent in constructing clear business cases and translating complex financial data into strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
- Skilled in advanced financial modeling, scenario and sensitivity analyses, and adept at handling diverse data sources.
- Self-driven with the ability to work effectively amid uncertainty, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate across complex business units.
- Proficient in financial systems, Excel, ERP platforms, reporting tools, and preferably with Power BI or comparable automation technologies.
