Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Fire Investigator to join our esteemed forensic investigation team based in Ireland. The role involves investigating causes of fires, explosions, and other incidents on land and at sea, providing authoritative reports and expert testimonies worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend incident scenes to document evidence and conduct witness interviews.
  • Lead investigations into the origin and development of complex fire cases.
  • Coordinate with experts representing other involved parties.
  • Prepare detailed, precise technical reports consistently.
  • Offer expert witness testimony when required.
  • Utilize the company’s case management system to track case activities per SLA guidelines.
  • Participate in joint examinations engaging specialists as needed.
  • Maintain and enhance technical knowledge through ongoing education, including training, research, and scientific literature review.
  • Support marketing initiatives by attending events and producing presentations or articles.
  • Represent the company in meetings and conferences as an ambassador.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Relevant experience and/or academic background in fire investigation, fire engineering, forensic science, or related disciplines; professional body membership is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a scientific, systematic approach to forensic scene examination.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey precise information clearly.
  • Attention to detail, adaptability, and capability to build effective interpersonal relationships are essential.
  • Ability to operate independently while possessing an accessible support network for guidance.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently on short notice across Ireland and the UK; occasional overseas travel possible.
  • Valid driving license mandatory; vehicle ownership preferred.
