Position Overview
The Bureau of Meteorology invites applications for the role of Finance Officer to become a part of our dynamic team, focused on delivering excellent financial and administrative services to both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
This position involves working within the Finance Operations team, providing support in areas such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing Card management, and Travel Finance. The officer will play a critical role in processing procurement to payment procedures, generating invoices for customers, and overseeing reconciliation of purchasing card transactions.
Change Management and Continuous Improvement
The Bureau is experiencing major transformations in its financial operations. The successful candidate must be adaptable and proactive in implementing changes that enhance the team's efficiency and ensure best practices are followed throughout financial processes.
Knowledge and Systems
Candidates should be familiar with the management of financial resources within a Commonwealth government context. Understanding of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act 2013 is important. Experience with SAP systems, SAP Concur, and proficiency using Microsoft Office tools will be highly beneficial.
